Kidney Swap Registration
Register your donor-recipient pair for kidney paired donation matching
Kidney Paired Donation (Swap)
If you need a kidney transplant but your willing donor is incompatible (wrong blood type or positive crossmatch), a kidney swap can help. Register your pair below and Dr. Rajesh Goel's team will find a compatible match from other registered pairs.
Once a match is found, both parties are contacted and the transplant is performed at PSRI Hospital following NOTTO guidelines.
How It Works
1. Register
Fill out the form with your and your donor's details.
2. We Find a Match
Dr. Goel's team searches the pool of registered pairs for a compatible swap.
3. Both Parties Called
When a match is found, both pairs are contacted for evaluation at PSRI Hospital.
4. Swap Transplant
After authorization committee approval, both transplants happen simultaneously.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for kidney swap?
Kidney swap is for patients who have a willing living donor but are incompatible due to blood type mismatch or positive crossmatch (antibody incompatibility). Both patient and donor must be medically fit for transplant.
Is kidney swap legal in India?
Yes. Kidney paired donation is legal under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA) and regulated by NOTTO. All swaps must be approved by a hospital authorization committee.
How long until a match is found?
It depends on the pool of registered pairs and blood type compatibility. Some matches are found within weeks, others may take a few months. We will keep you updated on progress.
What if no match is found?
If no swap match is available, Dr. Goel can discuss ABO incompatible transplant as an alternative, which allows transplant even with blood type mismatch using special treatment protocols.
